Frequently Asked Questions

What is CCC?

Create, Compete, Collaborate is an ambition which aims to ensure that every young person in the South East has the opportunity to take part in a project with another young person from a competitor country between now and 2012.

Why is it happening?

CCC has been developed as a key part of the South East region’s 2012 offer.  It aims to create a legacy of participation and opportunity for young people by harnessing the spirit of the games and enabling children and young people to benefit from the transformative impact of collaborating with their peers from other cultures.

How is it going to work?

CCC comprises 2 strands - the community strand, which aims to discover, connect and champion existing international collaborations for young people and the project strand - which creates new collaborative work with a particular focus on those that are hardest-to-reach. For more information, please see 'The Ambition' .

What are the benefits of becoming involved in CCC?

Through the community strand, CCC helps to profile, connect and develop work that involves international collaborations for young people. This is achieved through the website, regional events and training and professional development programmes. CCC  has also developed tools such as the CCCeCommunity that enable members of the community to enhance existing links and create new ones. For more information on how to become part of the eCommunity, please click here. Furthermore, CCC provides support, advice and guidance for organisations and practitioners seeking additional resources and information to develop their work.

The project strand delivers a series of groundbreaking projects that specifically target those that have least access to opportunity. For information on work that is already being delivered in response to this aim, please see the CCC Programme section.

How do I become involved in CCC?

If you are involved in a project or work that demonstrates the 'CCC Criteria', please take the time to join the community by registering your details. This will allow us to profile your work through the Activity Map. For information on how to become part of the CCCeCommunity, please click here. We will be in touch with members of the community on a regular basis with information on progress, opportunities and events.

Why do you want me to register?

We want to map out what is currently happening so that we have a database of where and what is being done by who and with what links to which countries!

This helps us structure the best way of realising the aims of CCC by supporting you to run projects and it is also the way in which we can communicate to you any important opportunities we can provide to support your projects.

Who is delivering CCC?

CCC is hosted by Creative Junction on behalf of a stakeholder group comprising a broad range of arts, cultural, educational and third sector organisations and local authorities. For more information on who these stakeholders and the work they are delivering for 2012 and young people internationally, please see the 'Stakeholders' page. For more information on how to become a stakeholder, please see below. To meet the CCC team, please see the 'People' page.

How does our organisation become a stakeholder?

Stakeholder membership is determined by a financial contribution, which is essential to support the core costs required to sustain CCC. This contribution is at the discretion of the organisation and should reflect annual turnover. Stakeholders are also expected to contribute an amount of time to attend meetings and input to decision-making when required. If you would like to discuss the possibility of your organisation becoming a stakeholder partner further please contact the team.

What are the benefits of becoming a stakeholder partner?

CCC stakeholder members benefit from being at the heart of the region's principal 2012 initiative for children and young people. As such, they play a key role in shaping the overall delivery of the programme, including new projects to which funding has been allocated. They also benefit from the support of the CCC team in helping to bring the CCC vision to life in the context of their particular organisation, and from access to an extensive and influential range of partners from across the cultural, educational, governmental, business and third sectors. CCC also endeavors to support the work of its stakeholders through association with the CCC brand and profiling opportunities through the website, showcase events, promotional activity and support tools. Above all, CCC is an opportunity for stakeholders to embrace 2012 as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a legacy of young people in the South East and around the world with the skills, experience and values they require to fulfill their potential in life.

When is it taking place?

The aims of CCC are to ensure that every young person has an opportunity to take part in a project with a young person from a competitor country between now and 2012, but it is hoped that the legacy of these projects and the international links they establish will live long after the 2012 games.
